The first four images were all taken inside the Nizwa Souk. The wonderful thing about the souks in Oman vs. the Dubai and Sharjah Souks is that almost everyone working behind the counter is Omani. This goes for so much of Oman, in general. While you'll occasionally come across an Indian or Nepali waiter, many clerks and shopkeepers are average Joes making a living. The fourth image shows dowry chests sold in the souk. The final image was taken from the Nizwa fort. Notice the meeting of old and new architecture.

Nice contrast, I always wondered how quickly it took to erect/ construct buildings like that.
Hope you got to picnic in Falaj Daris - a nice little park that's ooooh so relaxing and has a falaj running down the side of it. The kids have such a blast there!!!
L-Oman
I can't wait to go back, L-Oman, and visit these places. How long have you lived there? Wish you had a blog w/ some daily life stories and images!
