1st image: from the rooftop of the Nizwa fort, even the water containers on the rooftops are in the shape of a fortress!
2nd image: date plantations (don't know what's smoldering)
3rd image: on the road back to Dubai...had to take a camel crossing shot!

I'm so proud I live in Oman (even though I'm still freaked out by some things...)! Don't know if ya got a whiff of that smoldering 'smoke' (ha), but I just love the smell of it!

The trouble with living here is that you want to take pictures of EVERYTHING! We literally have thousands of photos of the wadi's, jebels, date palms, little villages, people...I just can't get enough of it all!

L-Oman

L-Oman, it really is a lovely country, and after living in the UAE, I felt like I saw 'local culture in action' while in Oman. Sadly, because of some strange and wacky events, I was really in Nizwa for less than 2 full days, and didn't get a chance to see anything outside of the town, much to my friend's dismay. It was unseasonably warm, and my body had adjusted to Seattle weather. I think my friend's therm. read almost 40 in the sun at one point, and I thought I was going to melt. The pictures of me at the fort were pretty rough, as a result. My friend Sue is pictured in one these posts, and as a local resident, she's fresh as a daisy! Where in Oman are you living, and for how long!
