Our autumn leaves were long ago scattered by the prairie winds. They had predicted up to an inch of snow last night here, but we lucked out and it missed us. But, we have maybe 3 days of warm-up coming and it should be in the 50's.
Would you believe we don't get as much rain as NYC, E? We just get a more regular dribble of it: small amounts spread out over the year. We actually almost never get snow in Seattle (last year was a huge deal-shuts down the city). If you drive 60 miles east, though, you'll hit the snow level in the winter months.
Oh... that would only be about 1000+ miles out of my way or so. That little mountain range is a bit of an impediment... which would be followed by the necessity of driving through... ugh... California. :-)

Lovely views--but I just couldnt stand all the rain you folks get. Do you have a lot of snow in winter?

VS....I admire your annual migration to warmer weather. Stop by Seattle on your way down?
