ARGH......I've committed my own pet peeve! It's right up there w/ misuse of the words "lose" and "loose", "there", "their", and "they're"...I could go on forever. I don't mind it from non-native speakers as much as I do from native speakers of English! In my defense, it was late last night!

Here's a pro tip: most ebay bidders get outbid in the last minute of an auction. 30 seconds before the end, up your bid by $20 in case someone is lurking around waiting to add $1 to your maximum bid, before you have a chance to react.

Thanks, M! I got that advice last night, and watched it very carefully, upping my highest bid by $15. I think I got a good deal on it. I was checking the asking prices in Craig's list for 2nd hand models of this camera, and I got it for almost $100 less!

I have both the film and the digital version of this. You will love it. Yea, you have to be there at the end of the bidding. I wait until the last 30 seconds, then count to 10 slowly, then hit the bid button.

I have the film version, too, Tamara! LOVED this camera in film. I got a telephoto lens from my siblings a few birthdays ago, and the photos I took in Kenya that year were outta this world. Unfortunately, the camera started to decline in performance (fuzzier shots, not as crisp) and the straw that broke the camel's back: a bit of plastic broke off the door to the film latch. I see loads of them for sale on Craig's list for around $100. New, they run b/t $200-$300. I contemplated buying that same film camera again, but didn't want to have to scan everything!
