Tonight's Events: Cat Washing

My cat had this look in her face, as I held her down in the tub, scrubbing fervently with my other hand: "Et tu, Brute?"

Stay tuned for my next blog: "Herding Cats"

I want a cat so much. But I live with people who hate them. I hate two cats when I was a lil girl. In October a cat forced its way in my home, it was so friendly, it had a collar so I assumed it just got lost and thought this was its home. It stood outside the door for hours meawing and it was cold and raining so I just let it in, washed it before it could come into any of the rooms, fed it and then it slept on my lap for hours. Come 11pm it meawed that it wanted to leave, I opened the door thinking maybe it needed the toilet, but it just left (the rain had stopped). It didn't say thank you. It just left. I'm heart broken and sometimes I wonder if it will ever visit me again.

LOL I sound like a nutter but hey, it happened!

VS, I had no choice. I put ineffective flea medicine, and when I called the vet about it, they said I had to a) wash it off b) wait TWO WEEKS before I could apply the good stuff. Of course, kitty was miserable, so I washed it off, and followed with a 2nd wash yesterday of flea shampoo, just to give her a bit of relief. Pictures of the new and improved "Judy" (that is her real name) are on the way. She is very soft and smells nice, after all is said and done. Not so sure about the fleas, though.

UM: Does your husband hate cats? My husband struggled at first, but she's the apple of his eye now. You know cats...they're so fickle. Not usually faithful like dogs. Just think of the kitty as some poor soul that wandered in from the cold seeking warth! :)

But UM, she did thank you by warming your lap!! A high honor in cat language... :-)

Many years ago, my ex and his family declared themselves to be cat haters. Then I brought home a tiny little kitten. They all immediately turned to mush and she wound them around her tiny paw. Now I am unfortunately allergic to cats, so I can't have one either, but I do love them.

CG: I could come and visit you. Fleas love me more than any mere dog or cat and I could attract them all in just moments. Of course then I would have to be dipped... and wear a flea collar...

VS: I am now an expert in adminstering the flea bath, so pack your bags!! You couldn't possibly be less compliant than a cat. ;-)

Lucky you! I thought from your posts that you were 'an old soul' (in the best of ways!) :)))

Yes, I am an old soul, I feel like I've lived a thousand years:)

A dear lady told me I could borrow her cat whenever I visit Egypt- I CAN'T WAIT FOR MY NEXT VISIT!
