I was just reading your blog and figured if you like Arabic dishes and
culture, you might like to hear about a new Link TV production that’s
airing
on the first day of this year’s Ramadan. "Ramadan Primetime" looks
at the Arab
world’s “Must See TV†holiday lineup — free from the
typical images the
West has come to associate with the Middle East. Leading
Muslim experts,
including USA Today Contributing Editor Souheila Al-Jadda,
share their insight
into Ramadan television and address how the programming
affects and unites the
global Arabic community. The film gives the rest of
the world a glimpse into
life through Arab eyes by opening the doors for new
communications about what
daily life is really like in the Middle East. It
features a look at lighthearted
game and religious talk shows, racy soaps
and Friends-inspired comedies to epics
like Hoor Al Ayn (or Beautiful
Virgins), a 30-part miniseries that delves into a
terrorist cell in Saudi
Arabia. “Ramadan Primetime†will be available both
via satellite on
DIRECTV ch. 375 and Dish Network ch. 9410 and on cable in
select markets.

So, Carmen also suggested a website http://www.biglove.lvhr.com/recipes/egyptian/egypndex.html and I already checked it out. Looks great, Carmen! And please get your mother to publish a cookbook. I am sure there is a demand for something like that. Since asking one's Egyptian mother-in-law for a recipe is considered a challenge in some families, I need a surrogate MIL willing to share those with me!
