Professional successful couple confronting failures, while struggling with the fear of infertility
I should probably start off w/ the disclaimer that I receive no money or perks from anyone for reviewing this. I'm not sure why, but I was contacted and asked if I would review this and post it on my blog. I have posted about HBO's "Big Love" in the past, so perhaps that's why.
To give you some background, this is the synopsis provided:
.... looks at the connection, or disconnection, between sex and intimacy, as seen through the stories of three couples who attend therapy sessions with Dr. May Foster. Dave and Katie, in their 40s, are outwardly happy, but have stopped having sex. Carolyn and Palek, in their 30s, want to have a baby, but the pressure to get pregnant is taking a toll on them. Jamie and Hugo, in their 20s, are engaged, but trying to resolve issues with fidelity.
This clip seen above is one of the four short clips I've seen. Though one of the other clips struck me as a rather thirty-something cliche, I have to admit that if I was flicking through the channels I'd likely stop and at least see how one episode pans out. The actors are not high-profile, but many are familiar(Sherry Stringfield from ER). I do like the way it's shot e.g. the camera following her from one room to the other making it feel more like a documentary than a work of fiction. Shows like Big Love, Bill Maher, and Sex and the City make me want to give this show a chance.
