Is this actually showing on CNN or is it CNN International? Only someone who doesn't know about the Gulf would think of Bahrain as being rich. Those of us who have lived there consider it the poor country of the area. It has almost no oil or gas and its main source of income is the Saudi sex and booze trade, along with the American military base.
The huge Shia majority... downtrodden and living in poverty will eventually rise up. As usual, I don't think the US military has thought this one out with its major naval base there.
