Interestingly, I have tried the search on google news - spelling his name various ways... and nothing comes up. A regular google suggests that it was only covered by the BBC and CNN - plus the local newspaper.
It is so obvious that the man is innocent that it just makes you wonder about the complete incompetence of our legal system.
So they consider the testimony of a 7 year old about something that happened when she was still in diapers?? That the mother took two years to notice??

Yes...odd that there were so few articles. Seems to be a good few blogs about it. It might have been lost in some "news from Iraq" that week. Tthe more I read about it, the more I wonder that perhaps this guy might be innocent. It's all a bit weird. It's true that women are the ones who typically perpetuate this barbaric tradition. A father doing it himself? I've never heard of that...certainly women have been known to take their daughters to men/women who perform this task 'officially'.
