I bought that from Amazon this week. I've always been fascinated by Jonestown and this didn't disappoint. Can I recommend another movie? It's called Abuction: the Megumi Yokota story and it's about a rash of teenage girl abductions in Japan, in the 1970s, a society where kidnapping was virtually unheard of. The explanation. It turns out the North Korean intelligence was kidnapping Japanese girls to "teach North Koreans about Japanese civility". It's bizarre, absorbing and the struggle of the girls' parents to get the Japanese government to acknowledge that the girls were kidnapped, adds another fascinating layer to the whole sordid affair.

Here's the Wikipedia entry about the whole thing:

Oh, here's the Wiki entry for the movie:

And the official website of the movie, which has yet to be released on DVD:

PS I swear I don't have shares in this movie:) It's just well done and really touching.
I've heard the latter was quite good-was this a TV documentary?
No, it was released as an independent feature documentary and won some awards (Cannes, Spirit etc.)
