Images 1 and 2: Pardon the power lines, but we were in the car when I took this. Was hoping to capture the suggested elegance of the sleek high rises, coupled w/ the true reality of Dubai construction.Image 3: A street in Mirdif, which was once the 'outskirts' of Dubai. In the last couple years, they have acquired a grocery store, an open air shopping centre (come on! It's Dubai-of course there's a mall!), and multiple schools. No longer the outskirts, Mirdif has moved into official suburb status. It's quiet (except for the fact that it's in the flight path of DXB airport), you hear birds, a Starbucks and Caribou Coffee are both found in central Mirfif at the Uptown Mirdif shopping centre.
