Um and Abu Noor

So, my friend A and her husband N had a baby girl less than 2 weeks ago!!! No photos yet, as they have no internet at home, so getting out to send email is an ordeal-especially with the little one there.

Since A and N come from different backgrounds (she's a Yank, he's Egyptian) they decided on the name Eleanor, but she's go by the name "Noor". I don't think they could have met a better compromise on a name for their multi-cultural bundle of joy. Anyway, A told me that N had been referring to himself as "Abu Noor" before her birth, so, with the help of my tech-savvy little brother, made a couple items to send using cafepress.com. A shirt for Abu Nour (the design above), and a creeper for their little Manial (neighbourhood of Cairo where N is from-see jpg of shirt design above) girl.

Not that the shop has lots to offer at this point, but I was thinking of making a few more items for gifts. I have not marked up the price, and therefore don't expect to make any profit from this stuff. I just thought it would be kinda fun and unique source of gifts. My cafe press site link is here.

Cute. I am an American guy married to a Saudi lady.

We have two boys together, Sinan aged 15 months and Sayf 5 months. As Sayf is a more common Arabic name I have been getting called "Abu Sayf" by some even though Sayf is the youngest.
