Judy. We adopted her last year...about this time. She was a special needs cat. She has some immune system issues which meant she came to us with these two open sores on her back. They healed once she was settled, and never came back. She sneezes. A lot. It's disgusting. Permanent 'sinitis' (sp). Gross. She uses her paws like hands-stretching them out to you to get your attention, and grabbing you from behind when you're paying too much attention to her nemisis, Roux.

Roux. Aka Rufus. We got him the same day as Judy.

He never meows, but he stares intently, trying to make a connection of some sort. He was special needs also. He was overweight, diabetic...a mess. But he's not either anymore, and I love this cat to bits.

My own lovely little cat, Duck, was hit by a car about a year ago. I adopted Judy and Roux from a no-kill shelter in hopes of giving 2 cats a chance at a nice home where they could live out their days.

I live for cats. I like them more than people. :) They make me happy- literally. I have a long-haired Turkish cat (a beauty) and a cocker spaniel.

You know, there is so much truth in the idea that animals relax people! My old cat, Duck, was like a dog! Indoor/outdoor, he would run to me where the car was parked, meowing the whole way in salutation. My neighbours whose patio backed up onto my parking spot said he always knew when I was coming home, and would walk the sidewalk in anticipation. That cat was the first pet I owned myself (we had loads of pets as kids, but all were shared) and he renewed my love for those of the feline persuasion.

As crazy as this may sound, M J, after he died, my husband and I both heard him on multiple occasions, and my neighbour even spotted his shadow pacing the sidewalk where my car was parked.

I've also been told that my cat knows when I'm on my way home, she starts meowing first by the window like 20 minutes before I arrive, then when I appear, she runs to the door. My Dad always tells me he's never seen a cat that is as affectionate and attached to her owner as dogs are! :)

I've heard that from many people! Animal intuition, as it were. Any pics of the little critter? I haven't seen you post on your own blog lately. :-(
