Lebanon, Israel, America and everywhere in between

I'm in no mood to talk politics today. I'm more concerned about all those people in Lebanon who have been forced out of their homes. My friend A is there at the moment. Between us, we must have about 10 years of living in the Middle East. She returned from Egypt about a year ago. This trip to Lebanon was with her church group. She said they were going to 'talk about Jesus' on this trip. Now, they're stuck just outside of Beirut, hoping to catch a ferry to Cyprus on Saturday. They might also be flown back by the military. I'm a bit shocked by that news...aren't there 25,000 Americans in Lebanon right now? Do they actually intend to fly all of them from Cyprus back to the US? Pardon my cynicism.

So, they went to talk about Jesus. I'm not a religious person, but if I had to guess "what Jesus would do," I'm inclined to think that he wouldn't attack his neighbours. I'm inclined to think that he would be more generous towards those around him. I suppose he would opt for discourse over violence. I imagine he would not move someone out of a home that once belonged to him...
